I recently purchased a refurbished Tivo Bolt (500GB) from Weaknees. Wouldn't pair with CableCard so I returned it for a replacement. Am now on my second replacement (3rd unit) and still no luck pairing with Cablecards. Have tried multiple multi-stream Cablecards - still no luck pairing. Hard to believe that this many Tivos and this many CableCards could be bad. What am I missing?

Have you called the provider? Usually the problem is with them pairing the device properly on their end. I know I had problems with Fios recently, and after sending me a new cableCARD, it still took them a couple of hours on the phone to get it paired properly. I do sympathize with you, but I do not think it is your TiVo. Especially after trying three! Oh, and and I have heard that TiVo is very good about setting up a three-way call with you and your provider.

Many cards now are returns. It appears they don't remove any even if bad. My last time took 4 cards to get it working. I ended up having Comcast mail me a card to make sure it worked

My last 2 units were also weeknees refurbs.

Thanks. I will try again to get Cox and Tivo on a call together. Cox seems to have their pairing process .. and either it succeeds or it fails. They don't seem to have any workarounds for sluggish pairing process. I went and got another CableCard today but same result.. One disturbing thing that I've noticed ... if I display CC info (Host ID, Data etc), then remove CC, then reinstall it, the "data" code on my CC remains the same. I've been told that if there is good communication between the Tivo box and the CC, that a "new" Data code should be generated each time the card is removed and reinstalled. Still .. three Tivo units and umpteen CCs and still no pairing.
