Check the manual for how to record to a VCR.
Just substitute DVD recorder for VCR.
The important thing that many forget to do is to select the correct input on the recorder.

So you gave up on the transfer to the PC, eh?

Use Audio/Video cables to send the picture and sound from the TiVo to the DVD recorder. (Sounds like you used RF instead. Bad choice.)

Make sure the DVD recorder is set to record from the inputs you used, not from its tuner.

right now i have hooked up using a/v cords. i ran them from the a/v OUT on the tivo into the a/v IN on the dvdr. it has front and rear inputs. i used the rear inputs and made sure to put the rear a/v inputs on the settings on the dvdr. any ideas what i may be doing wrong?
