I use one of my TiVo's (an R10) to feed the RF signal throughout the house on the internal TV wiring. Until yesterday it worked perfectly. Yesterday, I called Direct to deactivate the R10 so I could use the card in a used DSR780. The whole thing was a fiasco because the DSR780 turned out to be in collections (Ebay seller sent me a different unit from that advertised) and I asked the CSR to just reactivate the R10 for now. However, when I got it reconnected, it took 3 more CSR's and a Direct technician to get the R10 and its card remarried. So far so good.
Unfortunately, when I checked the signal in our kitchen TV it was very grainy. Obviously something happened to the RF signal coming from the R10. I checked all the connections, including the RF amplifier I have in the output line to feed the rest of the house. Nothing apparent. I am stumped. I can't imagine that all the attempts to get the R10 running again would somehow mess up the RF output. Is there anything in a menu that affects the RF output? Otherwise the R10 is working as well as before.
