It'll probably be 'less slow' if both cores were enabled. Nobody knows exactly how much less slow. Might be a lot less slow. Might be negligible to us humans.I have read on here that the primier is slow becasue of a issue that forced them to disable one of the CPU's cores. I also recall discussion that this would be fixed at some time in the future. Still waiting on that....
Speculation is that it's because it uses Flash, or because it's looking up content in real time, or a combination of both.i_am_not_randy said:Anyway, does anyone know the technical reason that the HD interface is so slow even with a single core ?
It's not due to a single core. A properly designed interface could run just fine on a single core. Even if the designers originally intended it to work with two cores, and using a single core was an unforeseen fault, there has been a frickin' year of time to correct that. There's no reason why the entire HDUI couldn't be reimplemented in a year if it was a priority.
In short, the 'technical reason' why it is slow is because management doesn't care how fast it is.
