It'll probably be 'less slow' if both cores were enabled. Nobody knows exactly how much less slow. Might be a lot less slow. Might be negligible to us humans.
Speculation is that it's because it uses Flash, or because it's looking up content in real time, or a combination of both.i_am_not_randy said:
It's not due to a single core. A properly designed interface could run just fine on a single core. Even if the designers originally intended it to work with two cores, and using a single core was an unforeseen fault, there has been a frickin' year of time to correct that. There's no reason why the entire HDUI couldn't be reimplemented in a year if it was a priority.
In short, the 'technical reason' why it is slow is because management doesn't care how fast it is.
