No loss in quality. Only downside I can think of in moving from Tivo to Tivo (or PC to Tivo for that matter) is that it may no longer group (if the receiving Tivo is guide data is lacking info on the show).

But no, no loss in quality.

Same answer -- Transferring a program from anywhere, to anywhere does not degrade the program. Converting a program to a different format will degrade the program. The amount of degradation involved in a given conversion depends on the formats involved and the quality of the program/device doing the conversion.

Note that some target devices/software are directly associated with a particular format, and "transfers" to such a device involve automatic conversion to the "proper" format. AFAIK this is rare, but you should be aware that it can happen. If the target does not support MPEG-2, a conversion would be necessary and may be automatic.
