Q: Are all outputs on simultaneously?

Currently I use all three video outputs on my TiVo HD(s) at the same time.

The composite video output goes to a couple of SD TVs with composite inputs
The component video output goes to a couple of distant HD TVs with component inputs
The HDMI output goes to the HD TV located with the TiVo.

The Stereo audio is split and sent along with the composite and component outputs. The local HD TV gets it's audio from the HDMI connection.

All three of these outputs are on all the time. Can I do this with a Premiere?

I use HDMI and composite at the same time. The composite are sent to a RF modulator which feeds a smaller tv in the bedroom (smaller set where HD isn't important). The HDMI to the living room tv.

Sounds familiar. We actually have 3 remote SD TVs hooked up to a multi channel RF modulator (Tivo 1 on channel 21, Tivo 2 on channel 23 and Tivo 3 on channel 25) HDMI is for the living room TV. Then we have 2 remote HD TVs so the component from all three tivos is fed to a 3x2 component switch so both of those two tvs can access all three TiVo's. This is all tied together with a bunch of Home Theatre Master RF remote controls.

Now, if Tivo would do something like the DirecTV whole house system I could pitch this kludge.....

I tried to do this with my Premiere, but ran into a problem where I'd get a message about HDMI not being authorized or somesuch (I don't recall the exact message) on the TV I had connected the Component to.

I ended up having to turn on the TV that the HDMI was connected to, which then authorized it for the other TV to work for a time. I don't know if it's a timeout that controls when the "authorization" ends, but I had to do it each time. The problem doesn't happen with my TivoHD.

This is very interesting. I have had this problem before with my TiVo HD's, but only when the HDMI outputs are connected to my DVDO iScan Duo. As a result, I bought a Marantz HDMI switch, which solved the problem.

Same. I've found that the problem happens if the TV's input is set to something other than the Tivo's HDMI output. This happens regardless of whether the TV is "turned on" or off (i.e. I can set the correct input and then shut the TV off and it'll work right). The TV must continue to handshake while it's "off".

HDCP: does nothing to prevent piracy but everything to prevent legitimate use.
