pytivo install question?

I'm installing the wmcbrine version. It says to extract the .zip to a folder of your choice referred to as the <install folder>.

I used C:\program files\pyTivo (I'm running XP SP3)

It says to put ffmpeg and tivodecode files in <install folder>\bin\

When the wmcbrine .zip was unzipped it created a folder in the c:\program files\pytivo called wmcbrine (c:\program files\pyTivo\wmcbrine) with several subfolders under that folder.

Should I put ffmpeg and tivodecode in c:\program files\pyTivo\bin\ or in c:\program files\pyTivo\wmcbrine\bin\ ?

Thanks,
BGC

You can put FFmpeg and the other utilities anywhere you wish. Just make sure that when you configure pyTivo it has the proper path for them.
Thanks, I figured it out after a couple of error messages. I've got it working now, I've pushed and pulled a couple of test episodes.

I noticed that when I shut the browser and closed the python console window, the MyMovies icon was still at the bottom of my NPL, how do I get rid of that?
A proper shutdown, which will cause pyTivo to send out a message to take away the share icon, is initiated by typing control-C in the console window, or by sending it an equivalent signal. Unfortunately this often doesn't work in Windows.
Thanks, that worked in XP SP3. I'll post future questions in the pytivo thread.
From notes on the Python web pages, it looks like the ^C issue in Windows may have been resolved in Python 2.7. I haven't tried it yet, though.

Confirmed. Ctrl-C works for me in Windows with Python 2.7. I get the shutdown message and then the window closes and when I check my TiVos right away the pyTivo shares are gone.
