This one was really good; especially the talk of Ned's t-shirt gift.

It's gonna be fun to see where Olive goes with her theory about Chuck.

"Mind over matter makes Pooh unfatter."

"I may be stuck but I can still reach my gun."

"I wanted to be a Jedi."

I found it a bit slow at the start but Bryan Fuller's always masterful way with words really made it shine. I loved the episode.

And can I just say that I heart Anna Friel? I seriously need to meet a girl as sunny and delightful as Chuck.
I totally agree. Best episode so far. I loved every second and every word uttered. I LOL'ed at "That wasn't the Truth Bus, it was the *****y Cross Town Express".

"Kick, Pooh!" :)

I remember when I was about 16 or 17 my mom was working part time in a thrift store. On Wednesdays they were able to do some shopping before the regular customers showed up -- better selection, that way. It's also relevant to note that English was not our first language. Anyhow, that day my mom brought me a tee-shirt with a picture of a sailboat, and written underneath it was:

It's not the size of the ship; it's the motion of the ocean.

To this day (I'm 45 now) I have not had the guts to tell her of what it really meant. :D
"You better be playin"
"Oh Hell No"

I'm lovin Chi.

Ironically, I just typed "Anna Friel" in another thread (as an example of an English actor with a flawless American accent).

Dunno why SHE came to mind!
I'm still keen on riding that tricycle with Chuck AND Olive.
Loved this episode.
this is the 1st ep i've seen. Was the beginning a huge recap for just my benefit? It just seemed like they were telling me stuff i should have seen in past weeks.
This show just keeps getting better. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the whimsy will grow weary for many people over the long haul. To me this show is a perfect example of why the British system works so well for shows that are pushing the envelope. Do 8-10 episodes per year and only do about 3 seasons total. Do your best work and then move on to something else before it jumps the shark. It's the old show biz adage, "leave 'em wanting more".
Great episode! It was so funny when the guy got stuck in the window and I go, "He looks just like Pooh" and the same time Chuck made her Pooh comment.

I love this show :)
To me Chuck is the epitome of cute. I love this show.

I liked the, "I wanted to be a Jedi" line!

And, "Kick, Pooh, kick!"

LOL
Best episode of the season so far and the "whimsy" was at a point I could deal with.

Chenowith is the star of this show for me she is just doing so much with her character. She is actually upstaging Chuck and Ned and I just want her to push Ned into Chuck.

I love this show it very clever, but the whole "10 years, 9 moths, 8 days, 7 minutes" is getting a little old already.

Although I did notice that they mixed it up a little bit with the funeral home guy's age as 42 years, 17 months...
I didn't know that he could bring back someone who died cuz of another dead person living more than a minute. That seems like an easy out if the wrong person dies.

I keep thinking that Emerson is gonna do that.

Yes, it was definitely just for your benefit :)

They are obviously trying to not alienate potential viewers who missed the pie-lette. Man, I can't believe it took me two weeks to finally *get* that title.
This was the first episode I had seen and it was good. I'm actually not a fan of Chuck, but maybe it's because I'm a girl and I can't imagine ever being that sunny or perfect. Clearly she is the result of a male fantasy. I also hate when Hollywood gives ridiculous male names to female characters.

But overall I thought the show was a lot of fun. Definitely whimsical. The dialog was very snappy at times, my favorite line of course the already mentioned "*****y Cross Town Express."

The narration gets a little tedious sometimes, especially when insisting on referring to the main character as "the piemaker".

I'll definitely be watching next week.

Don't feel bad. I didn't get it until just now when I read this post. :)

That's how they talk in fairy tales, and that what this show is, a modern-day fairy tale.
