You need to make sure its updated software is at least v20.7.4 or else you cannot get any TV sources in Guided Setup. This is due to the changeover to Rovi a couple years ago.
Thanks, i will check the version # but i did do an update today ( tv compromised at the moment). However, i should have been more clear: the screen that tells me to select 3 thumbs down and then hit enter to proceed - THAT's where it's stuck. It does not proceed at all.You need to make sure its updated software is at least v20.7.4 or else you cannot get any TV sources in Guided Setup. I did do that step to get the dr phil and general hospitals out ( for reals) but i noticed that it didnt take as long as it said it would and still saw some stuff in the schedule section I think? Will try it again tomorrow becuz no it never went to set up after that. Thank you.Try Clear & Delete Everything
TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Help > Reset to Defaults > Clear & Delete Everything > three thumbs down and an Enter.
I believe it automatically goes into Guided Setup when it reboots after resetting the software to Defaults. Give a half hour to 2 hours to clear everything.
You are running TE4. When you hit the TiVo button it will display Home. Move Left to Menu. Hit OK. Select Help. Hit Reset to Defaults. Select Repeat Guided Setup. It will remember the old zipcode. Change it.The version is 21.9.7.v8-846-6-846
As i said ive already rebooted twice.
Thanks. All my Roamios are TE3 software, so that is why my menu selections are different...You are running TE4. When you hit the TiVo button it will display Home. Move Left to Menu. Hit OK. Select Help. Hit Reset to Defaults. Select Repeat Guided Setup. It will remember the old zipcode. Change it.
There is no TiVo Central with TE4.
I have both. BTW, that CPI&TDL or C&DE will brick a TE3. You can wipe the drive with a KS 76543210.Thanks. All my Roamios are TE3 software, so that is why my menu selections are different...
Does the KickStart 76543210 actually wipe the partition info, thus forcing a download and complete reinstall of the TiVo software, like installing a blank hard drive? Or does it just reinstall the software?I have both. BTW, that CPI&TDL or C&DE will brick a TE3. You can wipe the drive with a KS 76543210.

The software, unlike previous versions, is located on NVRAM on the motherboard. I have installed new drives (1TB & 3TB) on all my Roamio boxes with just the Torx wrenches. If you ever receive a new TiVo, you can see the software version by hitting the Info button when asked to choose a country:Does the KickStart 76543210 actually wipe the partition info, thus forcing a download and complete reinstall of the TiVo software, like installing a blank hard drive? Try to find one of the DVRBackup and/or Image discussion threads. It sounds like you need to see about getting a newer image for your drive and from there you'll be able to make it past the issues you are having.Hello original poster here:
Need to repeat my question I guess. it is FREEZING on Repeat Guided Setup. And rebooting does not help.
