Hey all, I just recently bought a PTV100 (HDR112) off a friend for $40. I see that in order to record Best Quality I can only record 4 hours or so worth. Is the worst quality really bad? Can I upgrade the hard drive in this unit? Also, what can the newer units do that this unit cant? Thanks for the help!

Try recording something you don't care about as a test on worst quality and you decide. The hard drive can be upgraded using the tools discussed in this forum. The older can be hacked to do almost anything the newer ones can, but out of the box the newer ones allow connection to one's home network/internet which allows all kinds of options like being able to program the Tivo remotely and transfer programs from one Tivo to another on the network. Additionally the newer units have more memory which allows faster connections to tivo central.
