I just bought a 4th series 2 tivo box and have it up and running on my network and have made multiple connections to tivo for updates. From the new tivo box I am unable to see any of the other dvrs on the network in the Now Playing menus. If I got to the other 3 boxes, I can see the new dvr showing but when I select it I get the message " The Now Playing on DVR has no recordings..."

What I am I doing wrong. I never had this problem before.

it sounds like your 3 older tivos have received the 9.1 update and the new tivo is still on 8.3 or even 8.2. this latest update requires that all tivos have the same version software to use mrv.
