I've got 2 Tivo remote controls and both have started being very sluggish and I have to operate them about 3 foot from the Tivo. I'm pretty sure it's the actual Tivo which is the problem since I've tried the remotes on another Tivo and they're fine. Anyone any thoughts on this ?

Stray infrered signals from another source?

Hold breath whilst someone types how stupid this suggestion is :)

No, excellent suggestion. Over the years we've had people change lighting in their rooms and then wondering why their Tivo won't change channels or another remote with something heavy sitting on it causing interference. So well worth checking.

It's always worth changing the batteries too - just in case.

With those symptoms, it's almost certainly IR interference. My biggest source of that was from a Philips video sender that was suffering electromagnetic interference via the low-voltage power lead.

Thanks. BTW I am away from home ATM so can't investigate until tomorrow.
