I am having problem using my Tivo Bolt with a new Sony TV I just purchased. This is the X85J or KD75X85J.

When powering up, it says signal lost. I am using HDMI3. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Anyone else having this problem?

And I just purchased new Monoprice 8K Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable

How can I figure out what the problem is? Is there a setting on the Tivo Bolt that I should change?

Have you resolved this problem? If not, you might try connecting the Bolt to a different HDMI input. HDMI3 on your TV is eARC capable and may be part of the problem since the Bolt isn't. Also, have you tried different video resolution settings on the Bolt? If you have it set for 4K try setting it at "auto" and see if that works reliably. Your TV, if it's like my Sony, does an excellent job at upscaling to 4K so you won't be missing anything if the Bolt is not set at 4K.
