I'm about ready to throw in the towell on this one, and accept DirecTV's offer to switch me over to a new DVR. I love my TiVo though and would prefer to hang onto it if at all possible. Here's the situation

This started up last weekend, I think. It's having problems collecting guide data. The guide shows only a couple of hours of program data, and will not search by titles. If I reboot the unit. it will gather only about 24-48 hours of data, and will run that down until I reoot whereupon it repeats the process all over. BTW, after the reboot, the search by title will work until the next day. The screen will tell me that partial data is available, and that full guide data will be available in 24 hours, but the following day, it says 24-48 hours, and my available guide data is down to a few hours.
I've talked to Customer Support, and they're basically stumped. One tech wanted me to completely start the system over, but there are a few programs that I wanted to keep, plus I'd lose a lot of Season Passes so I was hesitant to do that.
It might be worth noting that in the 4+ years of ownership, my system has never been placed on standby.
If you have any suggestions, I be happy to entertain anything you'd have to offer.
Thanx in advance!
