TiVo Fall 2007 Service Update
Thank you for your interest in the new TiVo Fall 2007 Service Update, adding additional power and flexibility to TiVo Wishlist(R) searches, making it even easier to record exactly the programs you're looking for.

This update is for TiVo Series2, Series3, and TiVo HD Digital Video Recorders only!
DIRECTV DVRs with TiVo and TiVo Series1 DVRs are not eligible for this update.

Only DVRs with TiVo Service Numbers beginning with the following numbers are eligible for this software:
110, 130, 140, 230, 240, 264, 275, 540, 542, 565, 590, 595, 648, 649, and 652.

(You can find your TiVo Service Number by going to:
TiVo Central -> Messages and Settings -> System Information.)

For Multi-Room Viewing to work in software version 9.1, your other DVRs must also be running software version 9.1. Please sign up all DVRs on your account and have 9.1 installed before attempting to use MRV.
** At this time Multi-Room Viewing is not available on Series3 or TiVo HD units.

*** Please note: It may take up to three business days to receive your new software. We appreciate your patience.

You have received the update when the software version in the System Information screen begins with "9.1". For more information, please visit our Customer Support site.

Thank you for using the TiVo Service!

Signed up and thanks for posting the sign up list.
Anyone know the new things? Haven't had a chance to check if I have it (signed up last night)
I hope this fixes the vanishing video bug....
Cool, I was surprised with it this morning and didn't even request it.

Couldn't ask for an easier way to request the update... Nice... :D

That almost forces one to sign up rather than just waiting for it to happen.....there was one upgrade that took 3 weeks btwn machines when i didnt sign up either...
Signed up.
It'll be my first experience with Slicer.
I'll probably be active in the Underground in a couple days. :p

The main features are
"Advanced Wishlists" so you can do things like exclude words from your searches
and
Multiroom viewing/TiVo to go for Series 3/HD DVRs

Not the last one.

9.1 software has the mechanism in place for MRV and TTG for the HD Tivo's. That mechanism will be activated in November.
It is postulated the code for the November release of Series 3 Transfers is in 9.1, but will be enabled later.

I think it's more than a postulation since it's extremely unlikely TiVo would roll out ANOTHER software release (to enable MRV/TTG) so soon on the heels of this one.
I signed up for the priority list, then when I loaded up my slingbox to force a connection noticed I was already pending restart. So, bully for me.

I don't recall the previous major software updates affecting MRV in this way. Could this be due to necessary accommodations for HiDef content? Or is it something more sinister relating to DRM?
My guess would be both; implementing more DRM as a necessary accommodation for HD content.
This is interesting, found it in the "video output format" screen under Hybrid mode.
Hybrid displays all 1080p and 1080i video at 1080i, 720p video at 720p, and all SD video at 480p. Recommended for TVs that support 1080i and 720p but not 480i.
So now the S3/HD supports 1080p video (from where?), and the new hybrid mode will output all SD at 480p, great for those of us (like me) whose TVs can't show 480i over HDMI. Nice job TiVo!
