President's Day is for celebrating Lincoln (Feb. 12) and Washington's (Feb. 22) birthdays. They used to have separate holidays. If I'm not mistaken, they merged them when MLK became a holiday.

I have to assume that's why they used "Abraham's" instead of "Benjamins".

I need a Tivo mini, I guess, and they’re normally an outlandish $240!

Can anyone vouch for how well the mini works compared to a normal Tivo, over Wifi? This is for a VERY tech illiterate user who can use a Tivo, but frequently forgets how to do things on there, much less anything more complicated.

Does it really just work like you’re sitting on the main Tivo?

$150 is more than I want to spend, but much more palatable than $240.

Some nice deals there--I especially like the Mini Vox plus WiFi adapter at $149.98, $30 less than the regular price for the Mini Vox alone, a deal not offered before, as far as I'm aware.

I'm not sure where you've been looking, but TiVo's regular price on the current version of the Mini, the Mini VOX, is $179.99. (Still a lot, though.)

A Mini VOX is normally $179. The wifi 5 seems to work ok. If you need a location to use a TiVo and you have a decent router it's a good deal. Not good for channel surfing. Ok for streaming or watching a channel (and it is 4k). There are some functions (Diagnostics) that are missing on a Mini. I use the A93 Mini every night in my bedroom and one in my kitchen. Sometime the A95 takes a few kicks to get started from Standby, but after that it works ok. My signal level is only 65% and I never get drop outs.

That Mini wireless adapter requires Hydra though, right? If so, I may do the deal, but sell off the adapter. I'd rather stick to TE3. We'll see.

I just ordered for the discount on the Mini Vox, I will be able to upgrade the A93 in my bedroom to something a bit more snappy. And the A93 can be used to activate another Guest Bedroom or will go to my Parents to let them return another Cable Box to their provider.

At the price point they are offering it is pretty much a no brainer.

This is my plan almost exactly. Even if it worked on TE3 I don't have a use for it as I have wiring to basically every room I could think of putting a TV in.

The National Holiday is called Washingtons Birthday, not President's Day. Some states call it President's Day some, including NY, still call it Washington's Birthday.

When the date of the holiday was changed from Washington's actual birthday many people thought the name of the holiday changed.
