Premiere won't record anything

Hi! First post. Brand new to Tivo.

I bought a brand new Premiere powered it up and turned it off. Activated my Tivo online. Waited 1 hour and carefully put in a preformatted 2TB drive I bought from a reputable seller on eBay.

Hooked everything up to my OTA antenna, ran the 1 hour or so set up process and everything seemed fine. I get about 40 channels. The channel guide loaded nicely. Only one problem.

I can't get anything to record. Now, I may be new to Tivo, but am fairly tech savvy. Pressing the record button, I can ask it to record. But it doesn't and the light doesn't turn red on the front of the box. I've tried to schedule a recording, online scheduling, season pass, from the guide, etc. Nothing will record and no red light. My shows folder is empty.

Please help. Hopefully I'm doing something that's very simple wrong. Should I put the 320 gb drive back in and try that?

I've heard some of the drives sold on ebay require you to do a "clear and delete everything" under settings because the image is tied to the box they took it from so it won't work correctly on the new box. Running C&D everything somehow fixes that. Takes a couple hours. Might want to give it a shot, then re-do the guided setup.

I tried a restart. Still nothing records. No red ligt on the front, and zero items on 'my shows'. Maybe it's the eBay drive.

Anyway, I just started the C&D (sounds like Conquer and Destroy). Hopefully in 1 hour that fixes everything.

I really want this to work so that I can kiss my Cable Subscription goodbye.

I recorded Babar and some cooking show. Now, it's time to delete them.

the better eBAY sellers have instructions included with the drive(or online) that clearly explain what needs to be done.

I used to include The necessity of and the how to C&DE information in the listing itself, email the information to the buyer, and provide a hard copy with the hard drive. Many people ignored it and complained and I'd have to give them the info again.
