I have a TiVo Premiere with an original slide remote and a USB dongle. The remote is going bad, is there another remote that will work with that dongle or is there another RF remote that is available that I could use with that TiVo. I cannot find another slide remote and the TiVo is not in view for the IR to work.

The question now is the remote Bluetooth or RF. Most likely its Bluetooth since RF didn't appear until after Roamio came out.

I have 2 Premieres and both have the dongle and Slide Pro Remote. They ARE RF.

it's a USB dongle not specified if it's BT. it's a closed RF system that might be BT, not sure. technically, BT is RF.

Yeah, they were all the same back then. I've bought all sorts of Tivo RF remotes on ebay over the years that work fine with my old dongles. The old ones were definitely NOT Bluetooth.

Some issues on this thread:

The OG Slide (released during the Premiere's tenure) was NOT RF, it was Bluetooth, and came with a black square Bluetooth dongle with one button that has a Bluetooth logo on it. These dongles will NOT work with anything but OG Slides.

The Slide Pro (released for the Roamio) is RF (RF4CE). It can be used with an RF dongle on Premieres and Mini 92's - this is a more curved black dongle with a TiVo logo, a Remote Finder button (and NO bluetooth logo). These RF dongles can pair Slide Pro remotes, as well as Roamio and Bolt 1st Gen (non-vox) remotes.

The Vox remotes (released with the Bolt Vox, Mini 95) are Bluetooth Low-Energy. These come with a BTLE dongle that is square, black, has the TiVo silhouette screen-printed in white, and have NO buttons. These will only work for Mini 93s and Roamios running TE4. These will ONLY pair Vox remotes.
