I purchased a Premier TCD-746500 in 2014 and never used it. Recently the Tivo I was using (died after 14 years, and I pulled the Premier from storage and began the setup with it not completing at the very end (loading), it would just restart the Guided start up again. Reading through the forum, it appears my software is outdated, and therefore TIVO has blocked all updates.

Appears I need the most recent Image to restore the HD. What is the most/last update and where can I get a copy? I'm a noob, but not a complete idiot with a computer. What software would I need and do I need to do a complete reformating of the drive or can I just reimage it over the old one?

To begin with, Does it have an active subscription, perhaps lifetime. Otherwise its a waste of time and effort to get this unit working. Tivo ended activation of Premiere and older units, unless it ALREADY has a Tivo service subscription.

Thanks for your reply. It does have a Lifetime subscription, as mentioned its new never used. I can understand no longer supporting (i.e newer updates) but you would think they at least update it to the last one for the Lifetime subs.

If its never been used, how can it have a subscription?

Other than that, you would need to either do a kickstart 58 (I think) or kickstart 7654321 to force an update, or get a model matching image. You would need to take the drive out and connect to a PC to place an image.
