Power Cord on TiVo Premeire XL

I just purchased a used TiVo Premiere XL from someone, but they forgot to bring the power cord with. Are there anything special about those cords, or can I use any 2 prong cable that fits in the back?

I have a couple of older TiVos, so I'm probably just going to use one of those.

Otherwise, can someone with this model post the power information (watts, etc) that's stamped on the end of the cord?

(By definition) If you have a cord that fits, use it. But it may have changed from what your previous TiVo used.
Older TiVo uses cord plug that look like fish shaped and newer TiVo (Premiere) uses cord plug that look like infinity shaped.

The cord plug that are shaped like fish won't work at all with Premiere.
You will have to find the cord that are looked like infinity. Also the cord from Premiere will not fit in older TiVo either.

I do not know why they changed the cord plug's design for Premiere.
You can trim a fish cord to work just fine with a knife, really..

I've done that.
I took a cord from my old digital camera charger. I knew it was the right shape, but didn't know if there was differant power levels for these cords like transformers or power supplies have.

The "fish" shaped one is polarized, the "infinity" shapped one isn't. If the
infinity connector is used the internal circuit needs to be designed to be equally safe with the plug inserted in either orientation. If the fish shapped connector is used it only needs to be tested with the power connected as designed.

All cords with the same shape connector are rated for the same load. Cords rated for higher loads have larger connectors.
