I had one given to me (yea!!) and need a power cable.

Radioshak, its apparently a very common lamp wire, if not you usually can use one from your cable co's set top box as well.

Just look at the connector on the back and match that with a cord from Radio Shack.

I've had issues in the past with my TIVOs and swapping power cords. These are apparently sensitive to power differences.

Keep trying power cords and rebuilding hard drives until you get good performance.

The power cables are a standard design and will not have any power differences...

they are standard electric razor cords. Shouldn't be hard to find

Just look at the connector on the back and match that with a cord from Radio Shack.

If RatShack doesn't have them, they can usually be found at commercial electronics places. Snap a photo of the connector with your phone and show it to the counter guy, or go old school and do a rubbing with a piece of paper and a pencil.

yeah if you have to take the hr10-250 with you to a local radio shack to make sure it matches up. pretty standard power cord used for small electronics these days.

i got one at RS a couple years ago and it was like $5.
