Pixelating/stalled Tivo series 2

I have a series 2 Tivo, bought in Dec 2004. Lately it has started pixelating, then it started giving me a message that it was running out of program infomation. I tried 10 times to get it to download program infomation and it would connect and start to download, then stop downloading. I restarted the system with no effect. So then I tried to clear and delete everything. Now the box is stuck on the screen that says it's clearing and deleting and it may take up to an hour....only it's been 6 hours. Is there anything else I can try?. Does this sound like a bad hard drive? Thanks for any help.

Yep, that sounds like a bad hard drive. Check out the Upgrade forum on tips to get your TiVo back up and running.
