Pink screen?

I just got a new Tivo HD box and am having an issue of a pink screen. I have a Pioneer PDP-4270HD plasma display and am hooking the Tivo box directly to the TV via HDMI. From searching around here there seems to be some sort of issue with that but most of the posts I've seen deal with PS3.

How can I fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

I had this issue with 1 of my S3s and it turned out to be a bad HDMI port on the S3. I use component output instead on that S3 and it works fine. So try using a known good HDMI cable first and if that doesn't solve it then confirm that component output works OK. At least on the S3 the HDMI port is pretty flimsy easily damaged unfortunately.
Thanks. That took care of the problem.

Should I return the box or is this just par for the course? Is there any picture degradation as a result of suing RGB instead of HDMI?

Thanks!!!

It's subjective and can vary depending on your TV but from many reports I have heard there is no distinction between HDMI & component. On my 47" 1080p LCD I don't see a difference between HDMI & component. Personally I prefer component anyway because it doesn't suffer from DRM and handshaking issues that are common with HDMI and the connections are a lot more solid than with HDMI cable. That being said if this is a new unit and you don't mind the hassle of exchanging it why settle for a damaged box?
