Perfect Harmony - Season Thread *spoilers*

Perfect Harmony, new sitcom on NBC. It's sandwiched in between Superstore and The Good Place. Stars Bradley Whitford and Anna Camp.

(imdb) When former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, he finds an oddball group of singers that is out of tune in more ways than one. Despite the ultimate clash of sensibilities, Arthur and his newfound cohorts, including temporary choirmaster Ginny, her ex, Wayne, vocal powerhouse Adams, gentle giant Dwayne, the impossibly upbeat Reverend Jax and more, may just be the perfect mix of individuals to help each other reinvent and rediscover a little happiness... just when they all need it most.

Mixed feelings on this one. It was enjoyable, but not sure if it has enough to keep me coming back. But good enough to earn a second episode.

Your thoughts?

I love Bradley Whitford - so I was in from the time I saw the promo.

Not sure if this will last past 6 episodes... But I'll probably watch it just to get my Bradley Whitford fix in.

I loved The West Wing.
I loved Pitch Perfect.
Halfway through the pilot now. I'm definitely in.
I was surprised I liked it, I was expecting to bail early.
I agree, I am not sure how far they can take it, was surprised they had them winning the contest in the first episode. But I'm gonna stick with it.
They didn't win, that "toupee wearing scoundrel" won. They won a new trophy, "Most Improved".

Even if the show wins "most improved" in the coming weeks, I will not be around to see it.

My thoughts exactly. There are two comedies about widowers. Which will do the distance?
Before watching, I truly expected this to be my 1st casualty of the season ( I think that goes to Carol's second act), but I liked enough to stick around for more
I passed this one over when I read the description, but then went back and checked it out when I saw this thread. It's actually pretty good on the scale of the other new shows. ;)
I loves me some Anna Camp. But not sure if I can take the fake accent.

Didn't she have that same accent on True Blood? Maybe that's really her voice! :D

She has an Anna Kendrick vibe for me. Annoying but I tolerate her.

Yeah, I kind of remember her with a southern accent in True Blood.
Though that was New Orleans and (according to Wikipedia) she grew up in South Carolina.
Got bored just a couple minutes into the second episode. SP deleted.
I almost did that. Nothing about the plot to get invested in. But it recovered slightly near the end of the episode enough for a one week stay of execution.

I'm still wholeheartedly in.

But I am worried how long the show will last. I can see how I might not be in if I wasn't already a big fan of Anna Camp and Brad Whitford.

BTW, I noticed on my download, it said the 2nd episode was ep 3(And in Wikipedia, "Fork Fest" is listed as production code 1BYG03). I wonder what happened to ep 2?

Just "binged" episodes 1 and 2, and think you got it right (although I see that you bailed mid-episode 2). I didn't see how the premise could go long-term and I still don't know if they can do it, and if I'll last much longer. The actors and their acting definitely surpass the premise--is it the writers in Hollywood, or the writing that the producers are letting in?
(although I see that you bailed mid-episode 2).
I may undelete it and try again. A couple comments said it got better. I like the leads, but the writing...
