I just purchased a Pioneer PDP5060 plasma and have had an HR10-250 for about a year. I get not audio or video through HDMI, at any resolution and I do have it enabled. Pioneer wasn't much help but told me that they currently use HDMI 1.1 technology and it may not be compatible with the HR10-250 HD DVR HDMI output. Is HDMI 1.1 not backwards compatible? Any suggestions would be appreciated. DirecTV, of course, is no help at all, even though they claim to be the manufacturer of the DVR.

the newer HR10's have new version HDMI cards in them which are much more reliable than the old ones, whodave.

if you have a manufacturing date on the back of the unit, beside the serial number, it's an older version tivo with an older version HDMI card.

the older versions have a history of HDMI problems.

As for audio, do you have DD turned on or off? Turn it to off and see if you get audio. As for video, I'm not sure what the problem could be. What was your old TV? It really should be "plug and play". I'll ask the obvious, but did you cycle through all of the inputs on the Pioneer? I have a friend who has the exact same set as you and he also has the HD TiVo and he has no problem through HDMI. Finally, have you tried component and if so, does that work?

On the Pioneer you have to enable HDMI on inputs 1 and 3. If those are enabled for the input the HR10 is plugged into, then it sounds like the HDMI port is dead on the HR10. The HDMI with the HR10 worked on my PIO 920 Elite, so the 1.1,. etc is BS IMO. The fact that you are getting no sound either, sounds like the HDMI is not enabled for the input you have the HR10 on. Hope that helps, good luck.
