Has anyone succeeded in doing this? I thought the first Slide Pro I bought was defective, so I bought another, from our beloved Weaknees store, brand new. Same exact behavior with both remotes, it just flashes orange slowly with every button press, which sends an IR command but the RF pairing never happens.

The first one I ordered with a dongle. I know it shouldn't be needed, but I figured, what the heck. Trying to pair with and without dongle, no difference.

Tivo support seems stumped.

You can only pair RF on the remote pairing screen.

The experimentation continues! 2 hours on the phone with Tivo support yesterday, they think I need a new dongle now. I have a second dongle now. Same results, not surprised.

Here's where I think there is a problem. The Tivo is not communicating with the dongle properly. Whenever the dongle is plugged into the Tivo, the green light stays illuminated. It never flashes or turns off. Holding the dongle button for 5 seconds doesn't make it flash as it should.

I plugged the dongle into my Windows 10 PC, Windows made the "happy sound" of something being plugged in and recognized. On the Slide Pro, I pressed Tivo+Back to go into pairing mode, and I pressed the dongle button for 5 seconds, and they both paired right away! I can use the slide-out keyboard to type on my PC. The volume buttons control the PC volume too! Both RF dongles, both Slide Pro remotes. Has to not be any problem with the remotes here!

I think there is a software glitch in the Edge.

Is it possible that when creating the Edge, Arris either removed the RF4CE/Zigbee hardware, did not enable it, or the Tivo software is not enabling it?

The way the dongle's green light stays lit when plugged into the Tivo and remains entirely unresponsive, yet, when plugged into a regular Windows 10 PC it behaves as designed, has me inclined to believe that Tivo may not be regognizing the dongle or communicating with it correctly, if at all.

Well technically it should. I mean, the included remote pairs via bluetooth. But the Slide Pro isn't bluetooth, its rf4ce/zigbee.

UPDATE! I have bought another Slide Pro. And another USB dongle. All of the same behaviors, the Slide Pro just keeps a slow amber blinking light. No progress made there.

AND I bought a Lux remote control, just came in today. I put the batteries in it, loaded the pairing screen on the Tivo, and it paired up right away, under 5 seconds. So now the included remote control and the Lux remote are both paired and work great.

The Edge is so new that I think they haven't really tested it with the Slide Pro yet, and there is some esoteric bug in the software somewhere... I dunno...

Another hour long call to Tivo support tonight, and the case is now being escalated to an "engineering department". Wish me luck....

I can't believe I now have $250 investment in remote controls... Tivo is like a drug addiction :-(
