I just purchased a Packet 8 broadband phone line.

After purchasing, I found that Packet 8 doesn't support tivo's daily calls to update.

Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Or should I immediately cancel my Packet 8 subscription?

I just switched to Packet8 from Vonage because I simply waited 3 1/2 years for a local number and Vonage just can't provide it. However, now my TIVO doesn't work. I have an old TIVO (I guess it's series 1) and I wanted to know if anyone has been able to get their TIVO to work with Packet8? Also, if you can hook an old TIVO to broadband, how do you do it? TIVO CO. says that my TIVO can't be hooked to broadband and Packet8 Co. Says that my TIVO just doesn't work with their service (even though I found an article back in 2004 where the CEO claims that he has a TIVO too and they were setting that up back in 2004!).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
