I am sure this has been asked before, but after looking/searching for an hour I decieded to post again.

We have an HD antena and also SD cable (no cable card/ cable box).

The Series3 (and the TiVo HD) have separate inputs for OTA antenna and cable. If you do not wish to get CableCARDs, you can still pull in analog cable (and clear-QAM unmapped digital cable streams, sans guide data currently - frequently the digital locals are provided this way) while using an OTA antenna to pull in ATSC and/or NTSC broadcasts. It all appears in the same guide, and both tuners can access *all* source material.

You will be able to get all programming you currently receive over both, integrated seemlessly into the Tivo guide, with the ability to record any two channels at once.

Very easy setup - you won't have to deal with any CableCARD hassles.

If you are fortunate enough to have a good OTA signal, and don't care about watching cable-only HD channels, this is the perfect setup.

While I also use cablecards, I do have the hybrid OTA/cable mix. It's truly incredible how well the TiVo melds the two input sources. The guide is seamless; one simply can't tell what is OTA and what is cable, unless you pay close attention to channel numbers. I have SPs for both OTA & cable; makes no difference in any which way.

Without a cable card? This is great news. My roommate was worried that the TiVo would not be able to know when/how to record in HD OTA and get program data.

Yes. I had this very same setup, and it worked great.

Also remember that, after you've run the guided setup, you'll want to go in and delete the analog (both cable and antenna) versions of the channels you also receive in HD, otherwise you might accidentally record those versions instead of the HD versions (it happened to me ). Also, "Suggestions" might record the analog versions unless you delete these.

Minor correction... You will get all of the cable analog, not all of the cable SD. Many of the digital channels are SD but you won't get them.

I had the same setup until I upgraded to digital cable.

Previously I had OTA and analog cable. My Tivo was able to receive and integrate the OTA HD channels and my SD Analog cable channels very nicely.
