I hope this isn't an ignorant question that's already been answered.

Is Tivo (or a vendor making Tivo powered products) planning on releasing a Series 2 HD Standalone?

Basically I'm looking for something that can pick up HD OTA signals, and can also hook up to any set top box to record analog (be it satellite, cable, etc).


Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, at least not that anyone hear has heard of. The technology involved in recording HD from a STB would be price prohibitive (estimated here to be in the thousands). There will be a Series 3 TiVo, which is standalone, and supports CableCard and OTA HD signals.
