For a couple days now. CBS and it's subchannels, actually they had two frequencies, gone on both. PBS gone. CW and all subchannels on that frequency gone. Fox and subchannels have been in and out. Loads of other channels gone. Rescanned, it found some channels but nothing on them, says no signal and no info. Weird, about a week ago some channels seemed to shift within the same frequency. A day or so later they were back to normal, until now. There are no announcements about having to do a rescan like there was last year. I think there are less channels left than what disappeared. I'm going to try hooking up my antenna to my TV to see what I get. I cannot find any info on this, around Chicago I would think there would be some info. I have 4 Tivos setup for OTA, all having the same issue. I HOPE it's not the Tivos, don't see how it could happen on 4, am going to try the antenna connection to the TV now.

Hmm, did you read about that somewhere? Strange though what happened a week or so ago. Thanks for info, glad I have a cable Tivo also, most of the channels still come in on cable.

Same problem on direct to TV. One strange thing, the main CBS channel is coming in on one of the Fox frequencies. 32-1 is Fox, 32-2 Movies!, 32-3 Buzr, 32-4 CBS main. CBS would normally be on 2-1 and 48-3. 32-4 is supposed to be Light TV.

Whoever owns 32-4 is probably letting CBS use the frequency until they can broadcast from 2-1 again.

Yeah :) But the question is, how would anyone know? I checked the websites for the "missing" channels, nothing about any problems in the Chicago area. No problem though, the main thing is to restore power and get that mess fixed up, wow. Good amount of rain but nothing spectacular, something must have broke, lower Wacker drive closed too.

From avsforum.com Chicago thread

32-4 still shows Light TV in the programming guide but it is CBS 2. 26-1 now says WCIU and the programming guide says "Service Courtesy of WGBO", 480i, and the WGBO frequency.

They shuffled things again, CW (26-1) now comes in on 66-6, a "new" WGBO subchannel. When I scanned yesterday came up with 25 channels found (not all usable). Normally around 80. So it's definitely not just WCIU and CBS. What is left looks like ABC, NBC, WGN, Fox (with one of the subchannels changed to CBS), WGBO (with the CW on 66-6), and possibly less than a handful of locals. Did not realize so many channels were dependent on the Willis tower.

I hope no one reports the channel changes to Tivo since they will not be permanent.............................

if you look at the list the stations in pink are off the air right now
Chicago listings

ABC, NBC, WGN, FOX have backup towers on the John Hancock that they are using
