I can't get these recording back. I had about twenty shows downloaded to my computer. I was in Desktop and checked off the "clear and reset" that is located in Preferences.
Ops, I lost everything in my "Tivo recordings" folder and sub-folders.
I'm dead if SHE finds out. Is there any way to recover them? Would they be in Windows system restore?

Never used tivodesktop for extracting recordings, but if you can't find a recover option in the menu's there, my guess is you're dead.

I don't know does TiVo Desktop delete the recordings to the trash can? If not you need a recovery program like Restorer2000 to undelete the recordings. The settings probably need to be setup manually.

FYI, you are not alone. TTG 2.4 Wiped out ALL my shows

I don't think it'll hurt to try (if you haven't already).
If the shows aren't there when you do the restore, you can always 'undo' the restore.

The restore will only restore registry settings and "key" system files it will not restore deleted recordings the only way to recover the deleted files is from a backup or with a file recovery program any writing to the drive lessens the chances of file recovery. I am almost positive that the original poster does not have a backup.
