Hi,
I recently got an S3 TiVo, and had planned on setting up all my schedules for the upcoming new shows, etc., this past weekend. I got called out of town unexpectedly due to a family illness on Friday, so I have been using the online scheduling feature to set everything up. I have received e-mails telling me that all of my requests have been received, but only a couple of status updates telling me that the schedules were implemented successfully. Is that normal? The site seems to say that I should receive an e-mail, successful or not. Should I be worried that possibly the majority of my requests aren't being put in place? If so, should I send the requests again? I am just trying to get a feeling for what I should expect when I return home and what I should I do to try to make sure I get as much of the stuff I want recorded as possible...

Thanks,
Randy

Everything I've ever set up on line has always worked. I ask for an e-mail copy of the request so that I know it went through, but I don't recall ever getting any kind of a "confirmation" regarding status. Guess I missed that option. But overall I wouldn't be concerned. If the order went through (unless there's a scheduling conflict of some sort of course) your shows should be waiting for you when you get back.

Hope everyone's feeling better now. :)

Thanks, Rich....that is comforting. I just found out about being able to schedule via Zap2It vs. the TiVo website, and that was helpful, too. With a little luck, everything will be waiting for me when I get home. Then I just have to figure out when the heck to watch everything... :D

Oh, and the status thing isn't a separate option...it is just supposed to be part of the e-mail delivery; from what I can tell, anyway...

This same thing happened to me. I am going to be spending the weekend at my shore house, so I used on-line scheduling to schedule a few programs there. I sent in 4 requests. I got the 4 original emails saying that I would receive later confirmations after my tivo called in, but I only ever got 1 confirmation.

So next, I made 3 requests for the 3 programs that I didn't receive confirmations for and once again, I only got one confirmation.

I next made 2 requests for the remaining 2 programs and surprise, I still only got 1 confirmation.

I am deducing that only 1 confirmation is sent, regardless of how many requests there are, but that doesn't give me a good feeling that the Tivo has actually received all of my requests.

I'm going to try an experiment on one of my Tivos at my primary residence. I'll make a couple of requests, see if I only get one confirmation, and if I do, see if both requests are pending on the Tivo. I'll let you know what I see.

I get the number of confirmations matching the number of shows I set to record. TiVo doesn't just send 1 confirmation.

Either your TiVo is not getting the requests or your email program isn't getting the emails.

Does online scheduling work for the S3? I saw this when I logged in to do some online scheduling today:

If you have a TiVo Series2 DVR, sign in to search your listings and schedule recordings anywhere you have access to the web!

Well...how about that. I set up an SP on line to see if I'd get a confirmation notice, and ta-da! I did! I just can't recall getting anything but an e-mail saying that TiVo received my request before. The confirmation e-mail says (in part):

Your online request for a Season Pass to "Private Practice" has been received.

All upcoming episodes of this Season Pass have been scheduled and now appear in the To Do List.

Best regards,

TiVo

So it does work. I'm not sure if you don't receive one of these confirmations that it won't record your request because mine have always worked, but as mentioned, it might be worthwhile to re-order just in case.
