I have two Tivo mini VOX connected to a Roamio DVR that worked for 9 months then one Tivo mini VOX stopped being able to view Live TV from the Roamio. It can record/playback shows and stream but when trying to view Live TV get Connection Lost error V87. The other Tivo mini VOX has no issues.

I swapped the two boxes and the same Mini still fails. I have done forced connections two times and reboot on all devices and power down/up all network devices. I have reset that mini to factory defaults and it still fails. Using hard wired ethernet and have tried regular DHCP, reserved address, and Static IP configurations.

The only difference is that the Roamio is on SW version 21.9.7.v7 and the working mini is also on that version. The failing mini is on SW version 21.9.1.v9 so wondering if that might be causing the issue. But nothing I have tried on that mini will cause it to upgrade the SW. Kinda at a loss as what to try next.

I know at times there have been issues when they are on different versions so you may have to wait until that Mini gets updated. You might be able to open a case with TiVo and see if they can bump that Mini up in the list to have the new version rolled out (and to report this problem).

I waited a week and still no software update for my failing mini vox. I contacted Tivo support and after going thru troubleshooting steps with them they said that my unit had a software issue and would need to be replaced. At first they wanted $39 to replace the unit as it was out of warranty. I pointed out that it was only six months old and they finally waived the exchange fee. I will update this Thread once I get the new unit and confirm that it fixes my problem.
