Ofcom Consult on Sky Proposal to Replace FTA Freeview Channels With Pay Tv Channels

I have started a thread on this in the UK General Chit Chat section at:-

www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5564985#post5564985

Please continue the discussion there as this issue is not Tivo specific, although would affect many Tivo users watching via Freeview if it were allowed to go ahead.

I just know that if you are anything like me most members of this forum rarely visit UK General Chit Chat, especially as you have to be logged in to the forum as a member to even see this forum section.

Please sign the 10 Downing Street petition for which the URL is given in the other thread if you are opposed to this move by Sky.

Try going to www.tivocommunity.com and Main Forum Index while being logged out and you will see that the UK General Chit Chat forum section is not listed. Log in and it is listed. Whereas you can go Tivo UK and its posts whether you are logged in or not. You only need to log in to reply to posts or start new threads in Tivo UK.
Ah, the whole off-topic area is hidden. Never noticed that as am always logged in.

But someone only lurking without joining or posting would always be logged out..............
Indeed. I'm sure most members use a cookie to stay logged in, so most members will always see all of the fora including UK General Chit Chat.

Some of us clear our cookies periodically plus this 30 month old hard disk has been playing up lately and is about to be replaced.

Had corrupted sectors and various things. Reinstalling all your software is a total pain.
