odd problem - gray screen with sound

Hi,

I've had my fair share of bad cableCARDs and lost authorizations before, but this is weird. Just FYI, both cards are supposedly fine and authorized on the diagnostics screen.

I'll be watching a channel - either standard def or high def - and after 2-3 minutes, the screen goes blank but the sound remains on (so I am not losing authorization altogether, right?).

Anyone had this problem?

I had that problem with one tuner when I first got my S3. It was resolved by replacing the CableCard. That's how I ended up with one M-card and one S-card.

Hmm. I really, really hope I don't have to do that -- it was hard enough getting the cableCARDs installed in the first place, and the TWC people have been nothing but trouble on the phone.

I am starting to think that maybe I should never have gotten the Tivo, as much as I love it...

Does it happen on both tuners? How about on analog channels? If either is true, then it may be something other than the card.
