I have an odd intermittent audio "hesitation" issue with Dolby audio ONLY on a couple OTA channels broadcasting from the same tower, same company as owners, different rf frequencies, and ONLY on these channels. They are broadcasting on UHF, and receive perfectly with good signal. There's NO problem with the audio watching the same channels directly from either of my two tv sets OTA tuners. The issues is only when the signal for them is coming from the Tivo's tuners.
My normal setup is a Roamio Basic, set on "Use Doby Audio" > HDMI cable to my tv set, then optical cable from my tv set, directly into a Vizio soundbar. Tv speakers are turned OFF, all audio comes from the sound bar, and whatever devices loop through the tv set to get there.
I also have an WDTVLIVE, a Blu-Ray player, a Chromecast, a 4k Firetv, and an FTA 4k satellite receiver going through the same tv set. They ALL work perfectly, it's ONLY the Tivo that has this audio issue, and ONLY on these couple of channels.
IF I switch the Tivo's audio setting to "PCM", the problem goes away, but of course then the audio sounds funky because it's only PCM.
IF you watch the Tivo OTA signal meter for these channels, it does NOT vary the levels at all during the hesitations. If you look in Diagnostics, it doesn't show it racking up errors for these channels either. The antennas are outside, and pre-amped with a Kitztech KT-200-Coax amp.
Any ideas of what's going on?
