Snow on analogs would indicate (usually) a weaker signal.
When you say you are simply disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to fix, where is that connection?
The only thing I can think of that would cause something like that would be a bad or loose F-connector crimp, etc. So when you disconnect and connect back up, you are securing the connection properly for awhile. Then heat/cold contraction/expansion would loosen the connection again a few days later.
I'd really try to check the cables one more time...
