Go to your to do list and check recording history and see what's going on there.On one of my two Series 3 DVRs I can no longer restore deleted programs. The group claims to have X shows, but when I enter the folder there are no shows listed, just the text explaining the "Recently Deleted" folder. The other DVR still has the full list.
I generally just use this folder to estimate how much remaining room I have by noting how many hours of HD shows I have deleted.
I have restarted the DVR several times, and did one hard boot. Nothing brings back the list.
Any ideas? Could it mean there there are some flaws developing on the hard drive? This is an original 250gig hard drive, with no external drive attached.

As I mentioned, I rebooted many times, including one cold boot.Try restarting the Tivo
I will check the previously recorded. What do you think I might
find there?

That depends on what you mean. It definitely sounds like something in the MFS structure has been corrupted. It's possible this is as a result of a failing hard drive, although in the absence of other symptoms, it would not be my first guess. 'Definitely an odd problem. Ultimately, you may have to wind up trying a C&D. What I would recommend is doing an upgrade to a larger drive, and then try the C&D on the original drive. If that fixes the issue, copy any important videos off the new drive, and do a C&D on it. This has a side benefit of creating a backup drive for you and of increasing your storage.Any ideas? Messages and Settings, Restart or Reset System, Clear and Delete Everything.
Restores the drive to the way it was when the TiVo was new, before you ran Guided Setup the first time. (except updates to the OS will be retained, I'm pretty sure)
Can take an hour or 3, you loose all of your recordings, season passes, thumb ratings, wish lists, fixed IP address if you assigned one (and you really should have), name of wireless network if you use a wireless adapter, basically anything and everything you taught the TiVo.
After it's done you have to run Guided Setup again.
Perhaps, instead of using WinMFS, it would be better to use the MFS Live cd, boot the computer from it, and use dd_rescue to make a byte for byte copy of the original thusly
dd_rescue -v /dev/sda /dev/sdb
where sda is the original drive and sdb is the new, at least as large drive.
If there are problem places on the original drive, this has a better chance of rescuing what's on them.
It'll make the new drive think it's a 250 (bootpage and partition map get copied exactly), but that's fixable later.
