No Sound on Live365

I am not getting any sound on my Live365 connections on my TivoHD even though the screen claims the station is playing. I can get sound on TV channels just fine. I even reset the unit and that didn't change the Live365 behavior.

I have also tried several channels and all are "silent" even when they shouldn't be. :)

I am running 8.1.7c2-01-2-652 according to the screen. My Internet connectivity seems to go fine and it sees the shares on my computer.

Any ideas what I can do to get sound back?

Doesn't anyone else use Live365? I get sound everywhere else, but with it. It does now have a problem with my PC (Windows XP) as well, so the problem may be on their end.

I just got my TivoHD running today and did check out Live365. It was my understanding that there's a fee required to get it. ???????

You can listen to some stations "for free", though they seem to have a few more ads for Live365 itself. I am trying the cheap 6 month trial they sent me. I like the music selection enough that I will likely keep it up if I can get this sound issue resolved!

I still have no idea what the problem was, but the problem is now gone. I don't know if my upgrade to 9.2J was the cure, but I appreciate having my radio channels back. :)

I have a new series 3 (great deal from Amazon) running 9.2. I have the same problem. The Rhapsody trial subscription works fine, but I get no sound from any Live365 stream. I have no clue why. Any help would be appreciated.

The sound came back for me when I upgraded to 9.2J and has stayed with 9.2a. I am not sure what happened, though I appreciate having the sound back. :(

Thanks for the information, Brad. Unfortunately, I am having no luck with sound, even though I have 9.2a :(. If/when I find a fix, I'll post it for posterity.

I've found that a few third party HME apps that can play sound don't work in 9.2a on the S3. If you try to play sound using one of these, the TiVo actually loses the ability to play sound until it is rebooted.

The LastFM HME application is an example of one of these problem apps.

Actually a lot of the "Music, Photos & More" just don't work - I get a "could not open url" error on the Yahoo apps and Rhapsody. With Live365 I can browse the menus, but get no sound. After that, no sound effects from the TiVo until a reboot.

Many of our customers experienced a problem where Live365 on TiVo DVRs failed to play music. This was due to an unexpected side effect of service changes at Live365.com, and has since been remedied. Let us know if you're still having an issue. The fix was made some time yesterday.

We apologize for the problem and will take steps with Live365 to prevent a recurrence.

I'm running 9.2a on a Series3 HD and can confirm that Live365 is now working for me whereas it wasn't a few weeks ago. Thanks for making this happen.

Great! It works for me now, although the sound quality seems lower than with Rhapsody.
I just unboxed my new TiVo HDTV and -- no sound on Live365. All other features have audio. I've tried rebooting the system but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Did it upgrade to the 9.2a software yet? If not try again after it does.
