Hope someone can help with this.

Captured some kid shows off of my Directv DVR on my laptop and stored as a MPEG-2 file. Video and sound plays great on the laptop but there is no sound when transferred to the TiVo using TiVo desktop plus. Was adviced that it could be a codec issue. Anyone have any ideas? If it's a codec issue how an I correct that? Thank you

Tivo uses AC3 for the audio and am not sure how you captured from DTV or the process on your laptop. I think there is a program or something called mediainfo (or something like that) that will show what type of of video/audio the file contains.

Also using VLC you can view the format details.
If it's something odd, you'd have to convert it while on your PC.
