Series 2 with comcast (no box) for six years without problems.

Series 3, comcast (2 cablecards), hdmi, optical audio to receiver - for nine months - no problems.

Even the cablecard install went well. Comcast tech had never seen a Tivo, so he just followed my step-by-step instructions (including to double check all numbers called in) and all went well.

I fear that posting this will cause the units to stop working tonight.

Amazingly, yes! Even better, when I called Comcast to schedule the visit (Comcast requires a tech visit to install CableCards) supposedly Comcast didn't have M-Cards, at least in our area (Greater Philadelphia), so I asked for two CableCards.

When the tech arrived, he pulled a couple of cards out of his pocket and tells me that these are a "new kind" that *just* arrived at the depot and he seemed a little concerned that any time they switch to a new model of card, it means a whole new set of challenges. I asked if they were M-Cards and he said, "yes, how'd you know?" I told him it was just a guess but that it was hopefully a good thing, as we'd only need one -- I proceeded to explain to him what the M-Cards were because he didn't know.

Installation went quickly. 20 minutes, tops, mostly him on the phone on hold waiting for the office to activate it. After that, everything came up -- digitial, HD, premium channels, music channels, everything.

No complaints here...

Zero troubles. Tech stuffed the cable cards in, telephoned his dispatcher with some numbers off the Tivo CableCard screen, and it was done.

No trouble since then. Works beautifully. Love the HD picture.

I picked up a Tivo HD on Monday for $218 from Circuit City. Cox San Diego came out at 7:45 this morning, installed both cable cards, and left. Everything seems to work like a charm! I was very worried reading about the Scientific Atlanta cards, but I think I am one of the lucky ones!

I really intended this thread to be for people who have the new HD Tivo up and working with cablecards installed. I'm trying to determine whether the majority of HD Tivo owners are having difficulities or not. From reading this forum some people might get the impression that the HD Tivo is crap. That may or may not be true. But if you're having a trouble-free HD Tivo experience with cablecards installed, please let us know.

Series 3 from last September, have never had a single issue with it.
Added an Antec MX-1 case and 500GB drive externally about a week after kickstart 62 was known, have never had a problem with that either.

For all the bad luck I've had in the past with consumer electronics, the Tivo's have been rock solid. (including my upgraded S2 that ran for 4 years non stop before one of the upgraded drives died)

FWIW then the subject would have been better off being "TivoHD, No Problems Whatsoever?"

I'm taking this as an open topic for items covered in this forum, and that would include S3's, and would not have assumed you were limiting to TivoHD units with the current title.

includes S3's since they are part of the "Tivo HD experience" however they would not be included if one were referring to "TivoHD experience"

Tivo HD - it arrived Thursday. Slight problems. The cable card install was pretty bad, but I blame Comcast, not Tivo. Neither the installer nor the dispatcher knew anything about cablecards. both kept trying to convince me that cablecards weren't worth it and I should just return the Tivo. The installer finally gave up and left (at least he kept the cable cards with me). I'm still trying to work it out with Comcast to get everything fixed (all is working now on both cable cards except HBO and Starz).

The Tivo HD has slight pixelation (I've seen it three or four times in the menus and on a couple of live shows). On the live shows, I see it every five minutes or so; not too severe. The good news is that it's so much more responsive and functional than the Comcast Moto DCT 6416 I was using. As long as the cable card issue gets resolved and pixelation doesn't crop up too much, I'll keep it and be happy.

S3 since the first week they were available. First Comcast CC instal in the area.

Not one issue - but in fact I think that just makes me ordinary.

My experience with the box itself is about the same.

2 Motorola Single Stream Cable Cards
HDMI with my Sony KDS2000 1080p capable 50"

Installer was able to get both cards working, but I wish I had tested everything. None of the HBO channels (must be an authorization thing). The installer is coming back on Monday. Everything else is working great. Every now and then I get pixelation in the menus (very briefly and only about once an hour with use and playing around). I swear half of the pixelation complaints are from first time HD DVR owners who don't realize that their SD programs are going to look a little crappy. HD is beautiful

The menus are definitely slower...My Series 2 DT is much faster with the menu's.

TWC, two motorola cablecards. Orange county CA. Not a single issue since first install.
