Just bought a cheap TiVo on fleabay, all looks good, I have a picture but it came without a phone cable. Trying to run guided setup, & it says no dialtone, now I'm not sure if the cable I have lying around uses the right RJ11 pins, its using the centre 2. does TiVo use these or the outer?

It'll be easy enough to crimp a new one, for testing, eventually I'll Network it like my others

Yes, can confirm it's the middle 2 pins on the RJ11. Sounds like the internal modem might be on the fritz...

Tivo box works with the same modem cable your Sky box uses if that is of any help...

thanks, never had my sky box cable plugged in, so I put it somewhere safe
