I have the latest Sharp LCD, a LC-42D64. So far I like it a lot. However, I can't seem to get Audio over HDMI. The Sharp is supposed to have HDMI1.3, so I'd think it's pretty compatible. Is the HR10-250 really incompatible with a lot?

No. It is 1.1, and 1.3 would be backward compatible, so I think it's not a compatibility issue. About the only problems like that were when the HR10 presented 1.1 to TVs or AVRs that were at 1.0.

Check your DD/5.1 settings on the HR10.

Are you going to the monitor directly from the Tivo, or through an amp first?

I know on my Onkyo, it does not pass through HDMI audio for some reason. I have to use the digital optical cable.
I hooked the HDMI cable directly from the HR10-250 to the HDTV and still no sound. I had previously used the optical out to a receiver and that was working OK, but now I put my HR10-250 in another room and want to just have both audio and video go directly to the TV over HDMI.

It's almost as if my HR10-250 thinks it's supposed to output the audio through the optical out only as it did before, but I can't see any setting where that would be indicated.
