New upgrade to 21.9.7.v8

Last night my two TiVo's (Bolt and Roamio) got this upgrade, anybody know what new ?

It's got Live Guide and Uploading PC to Tivo Is Back AND You can go back to TE3 Without losing your recordings!!!

This fixes a major issue that causes program guide downloads to completely fail and the TiVo to eventually run out of guide data. One of Bolt's was out for over two weeks and TiVo support was tracking this as an issue that they claim was affecting a couple of hundred boxes. I've been hounding support every day since this started and all I kept getting was "we're aware of the issue and engineering is working on it".

Totally surprised that it took a software update to fix it.

Is this update just for TE4?
Yes Any Update starting with 21 is TE4 TE3 is 20

It was still completely broken last night. Nothing we tried including deleting and re-doing guided setup fixed the problem. Program guide updates always showed "failed" in System Information even though the network connections were always succeeding. There was nothing in the program guide. Last night just before bed, I initiated a network connect and the long download time seemed to imply a software update.

This morning when I woke up, .V8 was installed. I had the full two weeks of program guide and the Program Guide Download was marked as successful in System Information!

Coincidence? I don't think so!

Or it could be you had something corrupted in the previous software that was fixed during the update.
Until we see the release notes we do not know what was addressed.

Well, I had that issue as well weeks ago and it fixed itself randomly one night, with no software update.

So I’m not sure we can draw a correlation yet.

Well... v8 has caused my Bolt+ to reboot multiple times at pre-roll ad time. I had seen this a few times in earlier versions but its horrible in v8. Its happened about 10 times since yesterday.

I came here just to see if My Tivo crashed this morning, or was rebooting for an update...thankfully it was probably this update.

I’ve had mine crash on the ads, though not since this update, but I’ve only seen a few shows since then.

They really need to abandon the ads until such time they can implement them without crashing our TiVo boxes.

Thanks for checking. I haven't gotten the update yet. Have you tried any recordings yet to see if you got ads?

At 3am my Roamio performed a restart. No reason, not power, not close to a guide update. First time I can remember. Had been running for over 5 days since I did a end-of-month cleaning. TE3 Roamio on same cable feed was fine.
