I just noticed that the CSR that activated my HR10 added the 10 dollar HD monthly fee to my account. Is that required if you have an HD receiver or will they remove that charge if I call and ask?

Nope, the $10 fee is required now if you activate any HD DVR, including the HR10-250.

Although you didn't care about them, you should be able to get the MPEG-2 HD channels off the satellite now. They are channels 72-79. If you have HBO or Showtime you should be able to see the HD versions of those as well.
