New promos for Fall TV season (already)

I've noticed several promos for the fall season running this week. Some with actual footage from the shows, probably from the pilots. (I see that Johnny Drama already has a new gig).

Back in the '70s and '80s when I worked for an ABC affiliate, we wouldn't start seeing new promos until July 4th. Even that seemed early, because they would run incessantly. It was mostly just title cards with music but by the time the shows premiered, we were already tired of hearing about them.

I wouldn't want to be without DVRs this summer.

The footage is already in the can for the upfront presentations anyway. Just need to edit it into 15-30 second clips. Might as well help a new show as much as possible, by ingraining the name an subject of a new show in their minds early.

Sort of like last seasons Lone Star......

The funny thing is several shows will have aired more time in commercials clips then they actual do in air time before they get canceled.

Lone Star was definitely one of those shows. I couldn't sneeze without seeing a promo.
