Are you hooking your tivo into surround sound? If so then tivo will not make those noises (while tuned to a digital channel). Also under settings there is a option for those sounds. Maybe some how it got turned off.
If it is sending DD it will not make the sounds. If it's sending PCM it will. Hasn't iy always been this way? I rememeber the same thing with my DirecTiVos anytime a program was in DD.The TiVo Premiere is connected via HDMI directly to the TV.

If you have a multichannel receiver (or preamp) you should set the TiVo to DD instead of PCM.If I understand this correctly, it seems it is preferable to leave my audio setting at DD and to simply get over the fact that I will no longer hear Pop Goes the Weasel. If I really want to hear Pop Goes the Weasel then I should change the audio setting to PCM but then I will have overall lower sound quality for digital channels. Am I understanding the options correctly?
