My hard drive died yesterday so I got a new one installed it and hooked everything back up.
After plugging the TiVo back in I got to the starting up screen...and it has just been sitting here for a few minutes.
Is this something that takes time or is this not working?

I was under the assumption that the software would load to the drive.

Sounds like you did not read my reply to your previous post. You listed the two drives you were considering, I mentioned they were SMR and may or may not work. And gave you a model that would work. If you bought at Best Buy maybe you could return and buy the one I recommended?

They should rename that thread to "SOME" drives that don't boot under TE4. There are a lot more than what is listed. Helpful though if the one you are considering is one of the ones listed.
