New Cox stations

My Cox affiliate (Baton Rouge, LA) added some new HD stations as of a couple of days ago and moved a couple around. Specifically, they added National Geographic HD, A&E HD, and moved MTV HD to a different channel. None of these channels are showing programming information - I get "to be announced" for all of these channels, despite the fact that they are cable TV stations which have known programming information.

When should I start worrying??

Cox announced SDV rollout this year but only for Fairfax VA, Phoenix AZ and Orange County CA, so I think you're safe for now:
http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6470803.html You need to contact Tivo to add guide information for those channels. Check in Tivo support, there's a standard form to fill out. Last time I filled it out the response was amazingly good and within days my guide listings were updated for new channels.

Cox here in PHX has had these chanels for well over a year now
Tivo has been freaking awful regarding HD channel adds in Tulsa. The only one they got right was the most recent addition of History HD.

Some of them it took two weeks and constant badgering to get a guide update.

There are still several issues that have been outstanding for 6 months now, and I've repeatedly notified them of the issues. It's like my messages end up in a black hole. :(
Comcast just added NGEOHD, FOODHD, A&EHD and HGTVHD on 9/25, and the programming information didn't show up until this morning 9/29. This isn't really Tivo's fault since they use Tribune. Still, I had filled out a lineup change form on tivo.com just in case.

I should have said Tribune. ;)
It was fixed as of this morning when I forced an update. TiVo detected yet another lineup change, but it was just to rename the new channels (when Cox turned them on, the TiVo named them things like 'HD - A & E', 'HD - MTV', and 'HD - NGEO', now they are appropriately named 'AEHD', 'MTVHD', and 'NGEOHD', and now have programming information).
I have noticed these channels were added to my programming guide (Cox Orange County CA) but were effectively dead when I tuned into them.

I called Cox to see what the status was & was told that these channels were only rolled out to a "special trial" area in OC.

Anyone else in OC CA aware of this, and if you also do not have these channels are you aware of when all of the OC subscribers will recieve them? I can get no info out of Cox, and suspect they may be BS'ing me...

Weird. I've had great luck with tivo the past few weeks. I submitted an add for TBSHD and it was working two days later. I also noticed that they had the wrong programming info the PBS HD station and that was fixed in a few days too. I haven't noticed any other problems.

Yes, I know exactly what's going on. Cox Orange County is currently upgrading from 750MHz->860MHz bandwidth which takes time for them to do for the whole county. So far perhaps only half the county nodes have been upgraded. The newer HD channels being added are at > 750MHz so if you are in an area that has not completed upgrades you will not receive the channels. Cox OC has an up to date deployment schedule here:
http://www.cox.com/ocpv/HDTV/city_List.asp
Even though Mission Viejo (my city) doesn't receive the channels yet I did file a missing lineup report with Tivo a few weeks ago to be sure that when the channels are activated I would already have guide data for them. In the past it took Tivo/Zap2it several weeks to add missing channels so I thought it would be good to bug them about this in advance so I would be set once the channels are activated in my area.
If you want good up to date information on Cox Orange County this is a good thread to subscribe to:

Oh cool - so going by your link, I guess that means that in November we'll get multi-room viewing, TivoToGo AND New HD channels!!!

I can't wait... :)

thanks for the info!
