The hard drive died in a Roamio OTA. Bought a 500GB replacement hard drive.

Can someone send me an image or send a link for it so I can get going again. The unit had the old classic UI.

put new drive in and let it boot up

no image needed on the roamios

I **think** it loads the old interface (TE3). If it loads TE4 you can roll it back

You can just replace the hard drive and leave it blank, Roamio will prepare it up to 3TB.

What model is the new drive? Not all drives will work. WD Red Plus, purple. It has to be CMR and not SMR.

There are lots of Western Digital. Not all will work. You need to specify the model number.

If this won’t work, I can exchange for the right one. I assumed they were all the same.

It might work. Why are you not using a larger drive? it can self-format up to 3TB, and cheaper.

It was a close out…..cheaper than the bigger drives. They said….bring it back if it doesn’t work.

I just thought I had to get an image fir it like the premieres.

Its an older drive. out of warranty. You can get a WD Red Plus for less and more space.
